Tableau has two types of certification, Desktop & Server. Each certification has two levels, differentiated by difficulty, Qualified Associate & then Certified Professional.
The exam prep guides listed in their website is the best way to understand what you should be studying for. The certificates do not last forever. Associates are only valid for 2 years, while Professionals are 3 years.
